Protects your privacy
Recordings are encrypted—no one, including Uber, can access the recording unless you attach it to a report.
Audio Recording
This feature records audio during trips using your phone’s microphone.
To set up, open the blue safety shield on the bottom right of your screen, choose Set up next to Record audio, and give the app permission to access your microphone when asked.
Sharing your recordings with Uber
- If anything unexpected happens, and you want to share your recordings with our Support team, follow these steps.
- Go to Help in the Driver app
- Choose Help with a trip
- Select the trip and then Report safety issue
- For phone recordings, choose Share recording when prompted
- How to attach dashcam recordings to reports
- Go to Help in the Driver app
- Choose Safety
- Select the type of incident and the trip you want to report
- Pick Upload now if your video is on the device you’re using to report
- If your video is on another device or you have a weak wifi connection, choose Upload later and you’ll get an email with a link to upload videos when ready
