The Uber x Rare Birds Business Booster program

A business development program created exclusively for those earning on the Uber and Uber Eats platforms, to help them reach their small business goals.

The 2024 participants have now completed their Masterclasses and have been paired up with industry mentors. 10 finalists were chosen to pitch their business ideas to a judging panel of industry experts in Sydney, for the chance to compete for a share in AU$100,000 of additional grant money

Meet the 2024 winners

These Business Booster finalists pitched in Sydney to a panel of industry experts, and were awarded with a share in over $100,000 of grant funding to launch or grow their small businesses.

  • Suraya, Flow Riders

    Suraya’s business, Flow Riders took out first place honours, and the top prize – a $50,000 grant. Flow Riders is a reusable period underwear brand that’s redefining comfort and confidence during menstruation.

    Suraya is also a delivery person in Hamilton, NZ.

  • Nick, Cat Harness Australia

    Nick' established business, Cat Harness Australia, produces top quality cat harnesses that make outdoor adventures safer and more enjoyable for cats and their owners. Nick walked away with second prize of $30,000, to help expand the business.

    Nick is also a driver partner in Sydney.

  • Ali, Supply Solar

    Ali created Solar Supply to help bring clean energy to communities in need by exporting used solar panels to developing countries. Ali won 3rd place, and was awarded a $10,000 grant.

    Ali is also a driver partner in Melbourne.
