Coral Gables, founded in 1925, is not your average city in Florida. In addition to being home of the prestigious University of Miami, the historic so-called City Beautiful boasts open-air shops and gorgeous classic hotels. When you’re visiting, Uber in Miami offers several options for you to get around town hassle-free, like a low-cost uberX for you and a friend, and uberXL for large groups. For special events, though, make sure your entrance is as grand as your destination and ride in luxury with UberLUX.

From outdoor wonderlands to posh interiors, Coral Gables has destinations for every mood. Check out these top places to visit:

Where to go in Coral Gables

One of the most unique attractions in Coral Gables is the Venetian Pool, which has delighted visitors since even before the city was officially christened. Designed for swimmers to enjoy a leisurely Mediterranean environment, the 820,000-gallon pool of crystal-clear spring water offers beautiful backdrops, two waterfalls, and several grottos to explore. The pool welcomes adults and families alike, but children must be at least three years old for admission.

If natural beauty is your favorite way to enjoy the great outdoors, plan to spend time at Matheson Hammock Park by Biscayne Bay. The atoll pool provides warm, gentle waters, but with the benefit of steady movement from the tidal ebbs and flows of the bay. In addition to strolling along the beautiful nature path, visitors can enjoy kiteboarding and sailing. After taking selfies under the variety of beautiful native trees, stop by Red Fish Grill, the park’s restaurant that’s cut into one of the historic coral buildings.

3. The Biltmore Hotel

For the ultimate picture of luxury, check out the iconic Biltmore hotel. Opulent backdrops offer postcard-worthy scenes reminiscent of the Roaring Twenties, so take time to explore the grounds. One way to take it in is with a round of golf, and the Biltmore Golf Course is the best in town, offering pristine 9- or 18-hole course options. The Sunday Champagne Brunch is also a city favorite, with live entertainment, fantastic gourmet food, and endless champagne. If you’re looking to splurge, look no further than indulging at The Biltmore.

Housed in the renovated and historic art deco Miracle Theatre, Actor’s Playhouse performs both main stage and children’s theater for a wide variety of audiences. Its year-round, award-winning theater productions feature creative local talent in all types of musical theater, dramatic plays, and comedies. After the show, stroll down Miracle Mile’s many shops and restaurants, like Ortanique On the Mile, a local favorite for high-end dining.

The 100-year old landmark estate of Vizcaya Museum and Gardens offers incredible beauty in every detail. From its Italian Renaissance villa and gardens with views of the bay, to its antique interior décor and furnishings, visitors are immersed in early 20th Century splendor. Commissioned by James Deering, a captain of Chicago industry with a penchant for all things European, this villa also boasts many modern inventions of the time period, including fire sprinklers, elevators, a central vacuuming system, and a telephone switchboard. The cafe offers excellent lunch fare, as well as local and international beers and wines.
