Magic Kingdom: Instructions for drivers

July 17, 2020 / US
Featured image for Magic Kingdom: Instructions for drivers

We have implemented first-in, first-out queueing at the Magic Kingdom to help manage high volumes of requests.

Pickup tips for drivers

Once you’re in the FIFO zone, you will automatically be placed into a virtual, first-in, first-out queue as long as you are online.
When a rider requests a trip, the request will go to the vehicle within the zone that has been waiting the longest, rather than the vehicle that is closest to the Ticket and Transportation Monorail station.

If you’re the second driver to enter the area, you’ll be the second to receive a trip request. If you’re the fifth to enter the area, you’ll be the fifth to receive a trip request.

Once you accept a request, pick your rider up at the Ticket and Transportation Monorail station.

Note: While waiting for requests from Magic Kingdom, please remain in your vehicle, be respectful of the Disney property line, and do not approach Disney staff. Disney currently permits Uber drivers to wait for requests in this lot, but if drivers do not abide by this conduct, pickups from Magic Kingdom may no longer be possible.

Dropoff tips for drivers

The designated dropoff location for riders going to the Magic Kingdom is the Ticket and Transportation Monorail station.

Due to COVID-19, Walt Disney World has reopened with drop-off restrictions prior to park opening times to minimize crowd sizes at entrance gates.

The Magic Kingdom opens at 9:00 AM daily.  If you arrive more than 30 minutes prior to park opening time, expect delays in accessing the designated rideshare drop-off location.

Despite the delays, drivers and riders should only end trips at the designated location to avoid being cited by law-enforcement.

After 8:30 AM, regular drop-off location access will begin.

Reminder

You will lose your place in line if you cancel or reject a trip, go offline, sign off your Uber app, switch vehicles, or leave the queueing area. You will not lose your place in line if a rider cancels on you or if you drive around within the queueing area.

Drivers within the zone in the map at right are eligible to receive trip requests from the Magic Kingdom.

  • Once you arrive within the FIFO zone, you will automatically be placed into a virtual, first-in, first-out queue as long as you are online.
  • You must wait in the waiting area to receive a request.
  • All pickups from the Magic Kingdom must occur at the Ticket and Transportation Monorail station. Drivers must remain with their vehicle at all times while picking up a passenger.

Magic Kingdom FAQs

What if I receive requests for uberX and other products (e.g. uberXL)?

You will receive requests on a first-in, first-out basis within the FIFO zone. For example, if your vehicle is eligible for both uberX and uberXL trips, you will automatically receive both types of requests depending on which request comes first when you are at the front of the queue.

How do I get to the staging area?

To get to the staging area, exit World Drive to the right and bypass the auto plaza. Turn left off of the ramp to continue along World Drive towards the lot.
