It’s Official! Our Stamford Greenlight Hub is Open

Last week, we gathered the greater Uber Connecticut community in Stamford to officially open the doors to our brand new Greenlight Hub, a center dedicated to providing support to drivers.

Since launching in Connecticut in 2014, we’ve been offering services to drivers in temporary and shared locations throughout the state. Now, we have our first permanent home where drivers can come to receive five-star support from our team of Uber Experts.

“From a brand new driver who has never driven with Uber to an experienced driver who’s done 10,000 trips, they can use this space to have any questions they want answered,” said Matt Powers, General Manager of Uber Connecticut.

After speeches by Thomas Madden (Director of Economic Development for the city of Stamford), Johanna Krebs (Mothers Against Drunk Driving), and longtime drivers Frank Fontana and Soraya Nims-Berry, the ribbon was cut by the speakers and all the drivers in attendance.

“Uber is an absolutely vital part of the community,” said Madden. “It’s a huge selling point for us to say we have Uber located within Stamford.”

Driver Frank Fontana put his appreciation for Uber another way: “It took me about 3 weeks to get up the nerve to get in the car, but from the first day I did it until today, I don’t think I can stop.”
