PUC Approves Two Year License

We have some great news to share! On January 29th, the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) voted unanimously to grant Uber a license to operate in most of the state. This means we can continue to provide you with access to safe, affordable and reliable rides through our uberX ridesharing platform, and expand access to millions more throughout PA. This step acknowledges the tremendous need for transportation alternatives in Pennsylvania and ensures rider and driver safety while still promoting opportunity and consumer choice.

We want to thank YOU! Your unwavering support is why we are here today. While the work isn’t over yet, and legislators need to act this year to make this progress permanent, this action is a huge step forward.

We would also like to thank PUC Chairman Robert Powelson for his leadership and the PUC Commissioners for supporting Uber and taking a stand for innovation, competition and choice.
