UBER FRAUDULENT USE POLICY – SEATTLE

Fraudulent activity may include, but is not limited to:

CONSEQUENCES OF VIOLATING UBER’S FRAUDULENT USE POLICY

Violations of Uber’s Fraudulent Use Policy may result in immediate loss of access to all or part of the Uber Marketplace Platform.  

If you have more than one Uber account, such as a rider account and a driver account, a violation of the Fraudulent Use Policy could result in losing access to all Uber accounts. 

We may also, at our sole discretion, put a hold on potential earnings associated with suspected fraud, adjust any earnings you are scheduled to receive associated with suspected fraud, remove or restrict your access to certain offers, or otherwise restrict your account until our review is complete.

Additionally, when law enforcement is involved, we will cooperate with their investigation in accordance with our Guidelines for Law Enforcement Authorities for the US, found here, and for outside the US, found here. 

Under the terms of this Fraudulent Use Policy you agree that Uber may temporarily deactivate your account to investigate whether you have engaged in, or your account has been used in, activity that is deceptive, fraudulent, unsafe, illegal, harmful to the Uber brand, business or reputation.

NOTIFYING COURIER OF FRAUD

If we are made aware of potentially fraudulent behavior and have adjusted your earnings, restricted your access to features or specific offer types, or revoked your access to the app, you may be notified in your statements of pay or via in-app communication, a phone call, or an email message. We may contact you via any of these means, to further assess potential violations of this policy.

APPEAL PROCESS AND TIMELINE

You have the right to appeal Uber’s determination that you have violated this Fraudulent Use Policy.  If you believe an error caused you to lose access to your account, resulted in a downward adjustment of your earnings, or resulted in loss of access to features or specific types of offers you may contact the Uber Support team to appeal the decision (here). 

For cancellations with cause that were denied due to a violation of this policy, you must reply to the denial notification.  To initiate an appeal you must contact Uber by responding to the Fraudulent Use notification and submit any additional details or documents at that time to help Uber understand your situation through the app.  

Our team will carefully review the information you submitted.  The review process typically takes up to seven business days; sometimes we need additional time.  We will contact you as soon as the review is complete.  Uber’s final decision is not subject to further review.
