Uber Detroit launches low-cost uberX with a Free Month & Rider Zero Kyle Singler!

Since launching in March 2013, Uber has connected tens of thousands of Detroiters with high-quality, luxury transportation at the touch of a button. We know Detroit riders love getting around in style. But sometimes, you just want Uber reliability and convenience at a lower cost.  Well, Detroit, we’d like to introduce you to uberX: Motor City’s new low-cost Uber option that’s better, faster and cheaper than a taxi.

When Uber fan and Detroit Piston Kyle Singler heard uberX was arriving in Detroit, he tapped his app and caught the first uberX ride in Detroit to the Palace to kick off the season!

We’re committed to maintaining the high quality you’ve come to expect when using the Uber app. In Detroit, uberX partner drivers include both licensed limousine companies driving non-luxury vehicles, and everyday people, providing rides by driving their own cars, in what’s called ridesharing.
