With Errands by the hour, you can: Return an online purchase by having a driver drop off a package at a shipping serviceHave a driver pick up a prepaid item, like flowers or cookiesHave a driver drop something off, like library books or dry cleaning This option is meant to be used for the pick-up or drop-off of items, including prepaid items that require entering a business to pick-up or drop-off. Only item delivery tasks are permitted. Other types of Errands are not permitted. How does it work? With Errands by the hour, you can request a trip for at least 1 hour and up to 4 hours to help you with item delivery Errands. When you enter multiple destinations, we recommend you consider the commute between them so that you book the appropriate time. If the Errands take longer than the time that you initially requested, additional time and distance charges apply (rates can be found in the Fare Breakdown screen). If the driver needs to pay for parking or tolls to complete an Errand, you will be charged automatically, and the charge will appear on your account within 48 hours. Things to consider: -Please be thorough when entering all details (such as pick-up and drop-off points) when requesting an Errand. -Give all the necessary information to the driver through the Uber app chat. This includes (but is not limited to): the description of the Errand, the contact information of the recipients, and pick-up and drop-off instructions. -Don’t share sensitive information such as bank card details, personal identification numbers, passwords, etc. -Remember that the driver will not be able to make any type of payment or purchase, including cash transactions, so all Errands requested must have been previously paid by you. -You are responsible for providing the necessary information for the driver to complete the Errand. Track it in the app and keep an eye on your mobile phone in case the driver needs to reach out to you. To request an Errand, follow these steps: 1. Go to the Package section on the Uber app. 2. Select “Start a delivery” and then choose “Deliver by the hour” 3. Select how much time you need to complete your item delivery Errands 4. Enter the pick-up address and each of your stops. You can add or change your stops at any time during the trip. 5. Confirm the Errand and share the ride with the Recipients so they can track the delivery in real-time. Tell them to keep an eye on their phone. Items prohibited from package delivery: Similar to Uber Connect, the items listed here are prohibited on Errands by the hour. If you request an Errand in violation of the law or any of our policies, including those listed on this page, we will take appropriate action, including immediately suspending or terminating your account.
