Software Engineer II, Backend - Catalog Fulfillment/Shopper Experience

Catalog Fulfillment team sits at the cross-section of grocery and retail catalog and fulfillment of orders. Our overarching goal is to empower customers to effortlessly order items and receive them with high reliability and accuracy. Achieving this objective entails the development of sophisticated systems and machine learning models. These tools accurately forecast item availability, allowing us to tailor store selections and shape demand accordingly. Additionally, the team builds and enhances shopper experiences, facilitating seamless discovery of items in-store in the shortest amount of time.
We're building next-generation platforms and services that improve the scale and reliability and enable us to deliver advanced consumer and shopper experiences.
The Shopper Experience team is looking for a strong Backend Engineer to help build the next generation of fulfillment tools to allow shoppers to quickly and accurately pick and pack items. As a backend engineer, you'll be responsible for features from the inception to launch. You'll collaborate closely with engineers across the tech stack and be expected to give input on how we design new experiences for our shoppers.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field OR 3-year full-time Software Engineering work experience WHICH INCLUDES 3-year total technical software engineering experience.
- Programming language (e.g. C, C++, Java, Python, or Go).
Technical skills:
- Scalability engineering.
- Distributed systems.
