Share your personal invite code, and when they complete their first trip, you’ll get a free Uber ride.

If you’ve received credits in your account, all you should do is add to your account payment methods and select ‘Uber Credits’ as your preferred payment method when you request your next ride.

How to apply a code

You should add your discount code to your account before the start of your trip, or as soon as you receive it. That way, it’s all set up and ready to go the next time you request a ride. Make sure you enter any Uber discount or coupon codes in the app before the trip begins, otherwise it won’t be applied to the current ride.

Simply go to the Payment section on your app, tap ‘Add Promo/Gift Code’ and enter your Uber promo code. It’ll be applied to your account and, as long as you take a qualifying ride, your discount will automatically come off your next trip.

When to use it

Once you’ve entered your code, it is automatically applied to the next qualifying trip, but bear in mind, working codes are sometimes limited to certain places/geofences, certain days and times, ride types and fares over a certain amount. You can use the Uber Fare Estimator tool to see how much you can expect your ride to cost and if you can use your code.

If your Uber promo code is not working, it may be because some Uber codes only apply to certain cities or destinations. If that’s not where you are right now, you can add these to your account for future use.

Make the most of it

Valid Uber promo codes typically work across different ride options, including UberX and UberVIP, and you can use your Uber code for multiple destinations. However, you can’t pick and choose which rides each discount code applies to — it’s automatically set so that the most recent code entered is the first code used. So, if you know you need to take a longer trip and want to save that 50%-off code for the more expensive ride, be sure to enter the Uber coupon code in your app just before booking and not any sooner.

Just remember, your most recently added code will be automatically applied to your trip, and each one can only be used once. So, make sure you choose (and use) your Uber offers wisely!
