To ensure you have one clear and unified premium offering in-app, Uber Premium will be the only premium ride option in-app with Uber Select and Uber Black being discontinued from 20 August.

We’re giving you a little extra time to get to your car when unexpected delays pop up. With extended pickups your driver will now wait up to 10 minutes.

- How does Uber Premium differ from Uber Black?
You’ll be happy to know that Uber Premium is priced more affordably and gives you more ways to personalise your trip than Uber Black, and you’ll still get to enjoy the benefits of riding in a luxury car. Uber Premium does not guarantee you'll get a vehicle with commercial plates (e.g. HC plates in NSW).
- What does this mean for Uber Select, Black, Lux, and SUV?
Down Small Uber Premium will replace Uber Select, Black, Lux and SUV across Australia. Uber Select, Black, Lux and SUV will be discontinued from 20 August.
- What kind of cars can I expect with Uber Premium?
Down Small With Uber Premium, you can expect to ride in a luxury car with added style and leg room.
- How will Uber Premium work at airports?
Down Small At Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, and Gold Coast airports, if you’re using Uber Premium you can meet your driver at the designated ride-share pickup area.
At Sydney Airport, you can take advantage of kerbside pickups from the Limo Pickup area.
At Melbourne Airport, you can also take advantage of pickups from the dedicated VHA pickup bays on the ground level.
Once you’ve requested an Uber Premium ride, the app will provide walking directions to your closest pickup location.
