
Keeping our customers, merchants and delivery people safe is important to us. That’s why we’ve pulled together some useful tips and tricks for preserving food quality that you may want to implement.
- Review the safety standards
Our Uber Community Guidelines outlines the safety standards and expectations of those who use the Uber Eats app.
- Catering for customer allergies
Down Small - Customers who order food through Uber Eats have the option to note any allergies in their order.
- If a customer notes any allergies in their order, you’ll see it in the order details.
- If you are unable to cater for allergies
- If your store is unable to cater to allergies and you would like to remove order special instructions, you can do so by turning off the ‘Enable Order Instructions’ and ‘Enable special item instructions’ toggles in the General settings in Uber Eats Manager.
- If your store is unable to cater to allergies, please update this by turning off the ‘Let customers share food allergies?’ toggle in the General settings in Uber Eats Manager. Learn more here.
- If your store is unable to cater to allergies, please contact your POS integration provider to disable this functionality
- You can also contact the customer or cancel the order if you can’t meet an allergen request. You can learn more about contacting customers and cancelling orders in our Help Center.
- The Australian Institute of Food Safety provides an Allergy Management Checklist, which may be helpful for identifying and managing customer allergies
- Clearly list all ingredients and menu items
Down Small - Update menu items with an ingredient list and photos to help ensure customers can easily identify any allergens.

- Be cautious of foreign objects
Down Small - Be careful of any foreign objects in your food preparation and packaging areas
