Regional ramp up – convenience and choice arriving in 13 more Aussie cities
Written bySince our launch in Australia we’ve helped restaurants get more than half a billion orders delivered to homes, workplaces, parks, gyms and even beaches in every state and territory.
But far too few of those deliveries have been completed in regional Australian cities and towns.
We’re pleased to announce that is set to change, as we’re ramping up our regional presence making the Uber Eats platform available in an additional thirteen cities and towns in Victoria, Tasmania, Queensland, New South Wales and The Northern Territory.
The first set of towns we will be making available are adored by locals but also boast an enduring appeal as being popular tourist destinations.
At launch we will have some of the most loved local brands, as well as national restaurants in the mix, because we know variety is important wherever you are.
Over 10 million Aussies used the Uber app or Uber Eats app in 2022 and today’s announcement will bring that convenience closer to potentially hundreds of thousands more.
This announcement is a great opportunity for local small businesses to use technology to meet new customers and capture untapped demand from locals and from people visiting these destinations for business or leisure.
In 2021 Uber’s platforms encouraged Australians to support local restaurants and merchants leading to $889 million in additional revenue for these small businesses.
This expansion is an exciting moment for our Australian team as we now have the app available in more than 40 cities and towns across the country, deepening our commitment to being the only platform that helps you go anywhere, and get almost anything.
The thirteen new cities are –
- Bathurst
- Coffs Harbour
- Gladstone
- Burnie-Somerset
- Davenport
- Warragul
- Alice Springs
- Orange
- Port Macquarie
- Tamworth
- Bowral-Mittagong
- Lismore
- Bomaderry and Nowra.
