We’ve made no secret of our plans to expand Uber Eats to more Australians in more cities, towns and suburbs.

Today we’ve announced the latest Australian cities to join the platform, with Wagga Wagga, Bunbury, Hervey Bay and Palmerston going live.

Having new cities hail from almost every compass point – Western Australia, Northern Territory,New South Wales and Queensland – is a reflection of the commitment Uber Eats has to restaurants in every corner of the country.

Turning the app on is a great way for homegrown restaurants to drive demand to their brick and mortar businesses – capturing the attention of locals.

As more and more Australians look to holiday close to home, having an Australia-wide platform visitors are already familiar with makes sense. Restaurants in regional cities will today be able to build their digital shopfront to showcase delicious food to tens of thousands of locals and visitors alike.

As we’ve learned from launching Uber Eats in more than 30 cities and towns across Australia and New Zealand, the most important ingredient is always having the best range of restaurants available on day one.

We have an incredible list of restaurant ‘heros’, offering a wide range of cuisines from today.

In Wagga Wagga we’ve had support from restaurants from the Murrumbidgee to well south of the Sturt Highway including Thaigga, JD’s Kebabs Chicken Pizza, New Oceanic Takeaway, and Kebab’alish.

It’s a real who’s who in Hervey Bay with Su Ju Bar, Meemee Sushi & Chicken, Tandoori Taj Restaurant, and Seafront Fish and Chips .

As for Bunbury it’s bustling with local favourites including Mondo Fresco, Scotty’s Burger Bar, Funkee Monkee, and Last Slice Pizza.

While Covai Cafe, Incredible India, Saigon Street Gateway, and Ahmet Kebabs round out some of the new names in Palmerston.

And when it comes to making an order with your favourite local restaurant – the choice is yours. You can choose the convenience of delivery through Uber Eats with food delivered to your door in an average of 30 minutes across Australia. Or if you’re in town and want to order ahead and pick up from  your favourite restaurant  you can do that too – simply select the pick-up option on your app.

No matter how locals are expecting to unlock the convenience of Uber Eats we’re going to make it easier for them to re-discover an old favourite or to find somewhere new with a $15* promotion funded by us to their first order – simply use the code eatsaugustlaunch to get started.
