When we set out, Uber was designed to be an efficient and affordable way to get from point A to point B, almost anywhere in the world. Yet, Dhaka isn’t just anywhere in the world – it’s a world in itself, with a culture that is unique and diverse. Think festival shopping, family get-togethers, big fat weddings or back to back business meetings, we are always on the go.
That’s why riders have always asked us if they could hold onto their Ubers while they are out and about — and that’s why we’re launching UberHIRE: an Uber that takes care of all your travel needs for the day.
UberHIRE is a time-based Uber that’s available on-demand, to let you explore and travel around knowing that your Uber will wait for you. It’s perfect for travellers exploring a new city, going mall hopping, picking up friends and heading to dinner and back or for business travellers who have multiple meetings – while ensuring it is an economical option for everyone.
How it works:
- Open your Uber app and slide over to UberHIRE and choose your preferred HIRE option, HIRE X or HIRE PREMIER
- Set your pickup location and request your ride
- Your Uber will be at your service. You will see your driver’s details straight away, along with the details of your car
- Pay your fare upfront and you can own the car for as long as you need
- At the end of your trip, your total fare is calculated based on the distance and duration of your trip. If you’ve exceeded the initial 1HR or 10KMs, just pay the remainder to the driver once the trip ends. You can pay in cash and receive an e-receipt
Please note: Currently, UberHIRE is available only on cash.

FAQs:
Do I need to enter a destination?
You need to enter first destination only. However, you can decide to update the destinations later for ease of navigation. Multiple destination update is not mandatory.
How long can I keep my uberHIRE?
Both HIRE packages can initially be booked for 1HR or 10 KMs. Additional usage beyond these times are subject to per min charges.
Is it a 24/7 available product?
Yes, you can request for an uberHIRE whenever you want, 24/7.
What would be the minimum amount I should keep for using uberHIRE?
HIRE X package starts at Tk 419 for 1HR or 10KMs. HIRE PREMIER package is available at Tk 499 for 1HR or 10KMs. You can keep the car with you for as long as you need and pay the additional charges mentioned above.
What are the cancellation charges?
You can cancel your car within 5 minutes of booking (just like you can in all your Ubers). For cancellation after 5 mins, a charge of Tk 50 is applicable.
Is HIRE subject to dynamic pricing?
No
How do I pay for tolls?
Toll charges are collected in cash, by paying your driver partner directly.
Is the Dhaka service area different for UberHire?
The service area is the same as with other Uber products.
What type of cars can I expect?
You will get the same cars you get on UberX for HIRE X, and PREMIER for HIRE PREMIER.
