About the Role
The Growth & Operations Manager role is part of our Northern Europe rides organisation. Together with the Head of Belgium, this role is responsible for making Uber a success in Belgium and helping our business in this market grow.
This hands-on role calls for a combination of customer obsession, savvy analytics, critical thinking and strong execution. You will have to think creatively to find ways to continuously enhance Uber’s value proposition to our users (riders & drivers) and optimize their customer journey in Belgium.
What you will do
You will work within the wider Northern Europe Rides Operations team to support primarily the growth efforts in Belgium. This may include helping to improve the driver onboarding process, finding new growth opportunities, and improving engagement and satisfaction of existing riders and drivers. You will act as the local implementation lead for our global and regional programs. Supported by the rest of the regional team, key activities will include:
- Driver acquisition. You will be responsible for attracting new drivers to join the Uber platform: both those with existing licenses and those without. This will require extensive engagement with prospective drivers. You will be tasked to communicate Uber’s value proposition to them and ensure drivers can start driving as soon as possible.
- Driver engagement. You will be responsible to engage drivers active on the Uber platform: ensuring that Uber’s value proposition is well understood and continuously improved.
- Rider acquisition. Ride-hailing is a growing market and new rider groups are looking at it as a compelling mobility option. You will be responsible for attracting new riders to the platform.
- Rider engagement. You will be responsible to engage our existing riders and grow the use cases for Uber.
- Union interactions. You will be responsible for supporting the Head of Belgium with interactions with driver unions, addressing their claims and voicing their concerns internally.
- Develop and manage partnerships. You will develop and manage strategic partnerships with larger fleets of drivers and develop a compelling value proposition towards them.
- Project management. You will own specific projects in the Belgian business, communicating progress to senior stakeholders and developing a structured approach to addressing key challenges.
- Cross-functional collaboration and partner management – Engage with a number of functions across the business – policy, communications, product, marketing, legal and customer support
Basic Qualifications
- Considerable experience (3+ years) in a fast-paced (ideally operational) environment: ideally in client-facing roles and with project management experience. Previous relevant experiences could include other technology companies, consulting, or other fast-paced operational environments.
- Analytical skills: You can independently extract data from a variety of sources and use it to generate useful insights (SQL, data analytics, and visualization skills preferable)
- Project management skills: You have a solid understanding of the project management fundamentals, and can execute projects under supervision with or without team members, in an overall organized, structured manner
- Business Insight: Understanding and being fully aware of how our business operates and how it makes money and sustains profitable growth, now and in the future
- Communication skills: Using interpersonal skills and situational awareness to clearly deliver information to a variety of audiences
- Planning and Organization: Setting up and maintaining processes and tools to appropriately structure and keep track of tasks and projects
- Problem Solving: Optimally resolving issues that involve people, things, and processes by using logic and common sense
- Partner Management: Taking time to build helpful relationships; earning the trust of others within the organization through strong situational awareness and reliability
- Teamwork: Demonstrates optimism, respects others and works well in a team
- Written and spoken in French, Dutch & English
- Preferably Bachelors degree in relevant discipline (Masters degree a plus); certain relevant experience may qualify in lieu
