To date, over 20,000 Torontonians have used their app in traditional or simplified Chinese. We’ve heard from Mandarin-speaking riders that they’d like the Uber experience to better reflect the multilingual aspects of our multicultural city. That’s why we’re thrilled to launch the beta of uberCHINESE in Toronto.
With the launch of uberCHINESE, residents and visitors in Toronto can now choose to ride uberX with a Mandarin-speaking driver-partner.
While uberCHINESE is in its beta, we’re hoping to continue to grow our driver-partner base and improve reliability of the service. If no uberCHINESE cars are available, you can continue to count on other Uber options for an affordable, reliable ride.
How it works:
- To unlock the uberCHINESE option, enter the code UBERCHINESETO in the “Promotions” section of your app.
- Choose uberX, tap the uberCHINESE option, and request.
- Experience Uber with even more ease, speaking your language of choice.
If there isn’t a Chinese driver in the area—don’t worry, you can still request uberX.
