Uber is deeply saddened by the tragic incident that occurred in Crans-Montana over New Year’s Eve. Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and everyone affected during this difficult time.

At its level, Uber wishes to make a concrete contribution to on-the-ground support efforts by offering free rides to the families and loved ones of the victims, as a complement to public transport, in order to facilitate access to their relatives who are hospitalised in various facilities across the country.

How to benefit from this support:
Users can enter the code corresponding to the relevant city or canton in the “Wallet” or “Payment” section of the app, in “Promotions”, before requesting a ride:

  • Crans-Montana_help_VS for the canton of Valais (hospitals in Sion, Sierre, Visp and Martigny)
  • Crans-Montana_help_ZUR for Zurich (Zurich University Hospital – USZ)
  • Crans-Montana_help_LAU for Lausanne and Rennaz (CHUV Lausanne and Rennaz Hospital)
  • Crans-Montana_help_GVA for Geneva (HUG)
  • Crans-Montana_help_FR for Fribourg (Fribourg Hospital)
  • Crans-Montana_help_BE for Bern (Inselspital)

Details of the support:

  • How it works: Each code entitles users to 10 free rides, up to CHF 30 per ride, allowing them, for example, to reach one of the designated hospitals free of charge from an SBB train station nearby.
  • Geographical validity: Valid for any trip starting or ending at the hospital or medical facility corresponding to the code used.
  • Duration: Valid until 31 January 2026.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the emergency services, volunteers and local organisations who have been providing continuous support to those affected since the incident. Uber remains in close contact with local authorities in order to provide the best possible support to those impacted by this tragic event.
