Celebrate Christmas, 2018 and beyond with Uber

2018 is around the corner! No matter when and where you are celebrating for this festive season, Uber will be here for your safe ride home. Here are some pro tips to make sure you get the most fun out of your celebration.

Designated Pickup Locations on Busy Areas

Due to special traffic arrangements and road closures on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, we have set up a few designated pickup locations in Central, Lan Kwai Fong, Wan Chai, Causeway Bay, and Tsim Sha Tsui. Please indicate your preferred pickup spot in advance and meet your driver there. A short walk might be required to get to the pickup location to ensure a smooth pickup. Most Popular Time for a Ride

On Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, we expect higher fares than usual, especially between midnight and 3 am when people leave from parties. You can always see the price of your trip beforehand – check the app to find the best time to ride! Picking up/dropping off your friends along the ride? Make sure you take advantage of Multiple Destinations to avoid surprises in fares!

Split Fare and Multiple Destinations

Start the party early by sharing an Uber with your friends, and you can even split the fare in the app anytime before your trip ends. You can also check out our Multiple Destinations feature, which allows you to enter at most 3 stops (including your final destination). There’s nothing better than getting home with your friends and making sure everyone’s safe!

Whether you’re running early, late, or right on time, keep your family and friends posted by sharing your trip details with them to keep them worry-free.

Confirm your Driver-partner

Make sure you get into the right car with the right driver-partner. Double check your driver’s car model and licence plate in the app before you hop on your ride.

Check it twice before you get off

Don’t ruin your night by being forgetful. Remember to check all your personal belongings before leaving your ride! In the rare case you did lost your item on your ride, you can always go to “Lost Item” in the in-app Help function to contact your driver or our team.
