It has come to our notice that certain individual(s) are using Uber and its associated brand names to create fake websites and run scams on Instant messaging services. Users are informed that such fake websites, messages from non-verified accounts on Instant messaging services are not related to Uber or any of its affiliated organizations. Users are advised to refrain from using such services and report such websites, messages, social media posts or any other communication from an unverified source to Uber at https://help.uber.com/ or via grievanceredressaloffice@uber.com.
Some of the websites that have come to our attention contain “UberEats” in their domain name which appear to mislead the public into believing that such websites and messages therein are associated with Uber or any of its affiliates. Examples of such websites are: https://www.ubereat-beta.com/ , https://www.ubereat-beta.com/ and http://u-e-ulta.com/.
It may be noted that Uber and its affiliates do not have any association with such fake websites or messages. Further, Uber does not have any operations in India currently with the brand name “UberEats”.
Here are a few points to consider while coming across any advertisements, offer with respect to Uber or any of its products or services:
- Authentic Channels: Uber’s official communication channels include our verified website [https://www.uber.com/in/en/ , https://www.ubereats.com/] and official social media accounts (e.g: https://www.facebook.com/uber.IND/, @UberINSupport @Uber_India, @Uber_Support etc.). Please ensure that you are interacting with our verified accounts and websites to stay updated on legitimate information and announcements.
- Be Vigilant: Exercise caution when you come across any suspicious websites or instant messaging conversations that claim to be affiliated with Uber. Scrutinize the URLs and check for official branding, logos, or contact information. Report any fraudulent activity to us immediately.
- Protect Your Personal Information: Uber will never ask for sensitive personal or financial details such as bank account number or Aadhaar details or ask for payment via instant messaging platforms or unsolicited emails. Be wary of requests for such information and avoid sharing any personal details unless you are on our verified platforms.
