No, earners are required to purchase and maintain compulsory motor vehicle insurance, when they are using their registered vehicle on an Uber trip.
How to claim if Earner or Riders are injured? Earners or Riders can go to the Past Trips section in-app and provide feedback on the ride. To navigate in the Uber app, go to the menu and select Account> Trips> Select the Trip you have an Issue> Select ‘Report Safety Issue’> Select ‘I was involved in an accident’ and fill up all the accident-related information. Uber’s incident response team will reach out to you and align the insurance partner for them to take you through the claim process.
Uber’s incident response team will review the information you submitted, investigate the accident and revert back to you to confirm the next steps.
