It’s our fifth consecutive year back at the Super Bowl and to celebrate, we’re diving into the history of football. But this time, it looks a little different. As Matthew McConaughey reimagines the origins of the sport, it’s colored by his conspiracy theory: that football was invented to sell food.

In our ad, fans will follow McConaughey as he time travels through history to put a food centric spin on just about each piece of the game – beginning in 1876 with the naming of the pigskin, to deciding Buffalo (wings) deserved a team, to naming players after appliances, to Peyton Manning’s Omaha plays (and steaks, to this year’s Big Game being played in Caesar’s Superdome – clearly a stadium named after a salad.

Take a peek at our spot below, featuring McConaughey and his famous conspirators: Martha Stewart, Charli XCX,  Kevin Bacon, Greta Gerwig and Sean Evans.

And in case you missed them, you can still catch our teases – in which Matthew details his theory, Martha & Charli XCX take on top TikTok trends (“This & Yap” and “We Listen & We Don’t Judge“), Charli XCX explains football in club terms, and more.

If you’re in New York, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Houston, Orlando and other cities, we’ll be bringing our campaign and conspiracy theory to life with Martha Stewart’s Super Bowl Caesar’s Salad available exclusively in the Uber Eats app through Sunday, February 9. Make sure to order yours, as it comes in our limited-edition Super Bowl LIX container.
