What is UberBlack?
UberBLACK is the original version of Uber and the pinnacle of riding in style. Uber has partnered with Hyundai, so you can request a brand new 2015 Hyundai Genesis to take you to your front row seat or a night celebrating on the town.
How can I ride UberBLACK?
When you open the Uber app in Auckland between Friday 18th September and Saturday 1st November, you will see a new option on the slider, UberBLACK, right beside UberX and UberXL. Slide across between 2pm and 2am, Thursday – Saturday, and request just before you are ready to ride!
Haven’t used Uber before?
- Download the Uber app and create an account. Enter the promo code ‘TRYBLACKNZ’ when signing up in the PROMOTIONS section of the app to get $25 off your first Uber ride.
- Open the Uber app, set your pick up location in the CBD and surrounding suburbs and request ‘UberBLACK’. If successful, a luxury Hyundai Genesis will be at your feet within minutes ready to take you where you need to go.
Please note there will be limited availability and high demand for UberBLACK. If you don’t get a ride within 10-20 minutes, grab and a normal UberX ride and try for UberBLACK on your way home.

$3.70 per Km | $0.50 per Minute | $6 Base Fare | $12 minimum fare
