It’s no secret that New Zealand is a nation of travellers. From destinations as busy and bustling as the Big Apple, to places as chill as Hawaii, we reveal Kiwi riders’ favourite international cities to visit this year, according to trip data. We didn’t include any Australian locations in the list because, well, a trip across the Tasman is barely a trip, right?

London

It’s no wonder we love it – some of the world’s best known sights are here; London Bridge, Big Ben, the Tower of London, the River Thames. There’s also an amazing restaurant scene, gorgeous architecture and more history than you can poke a stick at.

Los Angeles

If the weather doesn’t convince you, the beaches will – LA boasts more than 100 km of coastline. Add in celeb spotting on Hollywood’s Sunset Boulevard and a super laid-back vibe and it’s not wonder Kiwis flock here in droves.

San Francisco

Walking trails, cycle paths, beautiful views, iconic monuments – San Fran has it all. A well-known hippie hub in the 60s and 70s, it’s also that little bit crunchy, but with a slew of amazing restaurants and bars, more than a little bit hip.

New York

If concrete jungles are more your style, look no further than The Big Apple. From Brooklyn to the Bronx, it’s impossible to be bored in this bustling, diverse city. Must-dos include taking in the view from the top of the Empire State Building, walking across the Brooklyn Bridge and chowing down on $1 pizza slices after a night out.

Honolulu

Set on the island of Oahu, Hawaii’s capital stretches along Waikiki Beach from Makapuu Point to Pearl Harbour. Travellers head here for the white sandy beaches and breathtaking scenery, but the city also boasts top-notch restaurants and plenty of cultural and historic sites.

Paris

Sure, it’s the city of love, but it’s also the city of epic monuments, dramatic boulevardes and stunning architecture, not to mention crusty baguettes and cute little french bistros. From the Louvré to the Centre Pompidou, it’s also home to some of the most famous art collections in the world.

Las Vegas

Sin City runs on tourism, attracting almost 40 million visitors in 2017. Kiwis head here to experience the chaos and lights of the Las Vegas strip, party, gamble and use it as a jumping off point to explore natural attractions just a few hours away – Big Bear, death Valley and the Grand Canyon, to name a few.

Singapore

It’s more than just a stopover on the way to Europe or the US – the Lion City is is quickly becoming a favourite holiday destination among Kiwis. With fabulous markets, beautiful beaches and some of the best street food in the world, what’s not to love about this bustling island city-state?

Miami

Known as the Magic City, Miami is also the land of the beautiful people – and beautiful beaches. It’s the perfect place to hit the beach – Miami Beach, South Beach, there’s fantastic Cuban food, a relaxed vibe, and Everglades National Park is less than an hour’s drive away.

Delhi

India’s capital boast ornate historic buildings, amazing food and fantastic shopping. From the neighbourhoods of Old Delhi, where you feel like you’ve gone back in time, to the chaotic streets of New Delhi, there really is something for everyone.
