Uber is all about connecting you with a reliable ride, no matter when you need it. With our growing demand on XL, Black and the latest addition to the family – uberTaxi, we want to ensure that you get a car even at the busiest hours.

Today we’re introducing our dynamic pricing model in Istanbul, which allows us to remain reliable at all times. Increased rates incentivize more driver partners to get on the roads and ensure those who need a ride won’t be left stranded. This means that our rates will float in real time with fluctuations in supply and demand.

With New Years Eve around the corner, we want to ensure that your rider experience is 5 stars from start to finish. Check out the tips below to learn more about our new dynamic pricing model and how to move around the city like an expert.

We aim to communicate surge clearly to all riders with our transparent UI. Before a request is made riders must OK the notification, as well as immediately after the request, in case they want to cancel before the car arrives.

We calculate this range to give you an idea of what the total fare will be at the current surge rate. It may vary for your particular trip, depending on the length of your trip, traffic and additional stops. Keep in mind that estimates do not include discounts or promotions.

If the rate is a bit higher than you’d like and you don’t need to ride immediately, you can wait for surge to drop. Just tap ‘Notify me if surge ends’ to be notified when prices return normal. Once surge lowers, make your request.

With Uber, you ALWAYS have options. If one vehicle type is surging, simply select a different vehicle type that has less or no surge.

Make sure you and your Uber find one another.

Traffic in Istanbul can get tricky. Zoom in the map and try your best to drop the pin near the street where you’ll be waiting. When in doubt call the driver to explain your exact location.

Request your ride only when you’re ready to go. The ETA in Istanbul is only under 7 minutes, on average! Can’t decide on an outfit? Stuck paying the check at a restaurant? Make sure to request only when you’re 100% ready for pickup!
