After a break of two months, Uber has some good news to share: We are back.
While we were away, many of you told us how you missed the convenience of pressing a button and getting ride. Uber heard you loud and clear. After constructive talks with transportation authorities, we are now partnering with licensed rental car companies to resume serving riders in Taipei.
During the break, many rental car companies expressed their eagerness to partner with Uber. We are keen to give rental car partners and their licensed drivers access to more economic opportunities that the Uber app provides.
“It is great to be back again serving Taiwanese riders, drivers and cities,” said Likai Gu, General Manager of Uber Taiwan. “Starting today, people in Taipei can book an Uber ride, and we expect to bring back Uber to other cities in near future. We want to partner with more legal transportation service partners in weeks and months to come, whether they be from rental car companies or the taxi industry.”
