What is the Transit ride option?
The Transit feature in Denver allows you to see nearby public transit stops and real-time departure information. To use Transit, enter your destination to see price estimates and projected arrival times for public transportation and UberX in one place.
The app will show real-time options and tell you which one is estimated to be the fastest. If you choose to take public transit, you’ll see step-by-step navigation to your destination.
If you’d like to purchase a Transit ticket in your Uber App:
1. Enter your destination.
2. On the choose a ride screen, select “Transit.”
3. From here, proceed to purchase tickets while selecting from available transit options.
In the Uber menu, you’ll have the option to purchase and redeem a range of tickets available on RTD services, including three-hour, day and monthly passes.
You can access active tickets which are stored in the Transit tickets section of your app when boarding transit services. Tickets you purchase will be available, even when you’re offline.
Please note that Transit information, prices, routes, and schedules are estimates provided by a third party and Uber cannot guarantee their accuracy. Uber is not responsible for third party information, products, or services.

Purchasing a Transit ticket
You can purchase a ticket when you view a Transit route in the Uber app.
To buy a Transit ticket:
1. Tap “Buy ticket”
2. Choose the type of ticket, the number of tickets and the timeframe for use
3. Tap “Next” to continue
4. Tap “Buy now”
Once you’ve bought your ticket, it will appear in the “Transit Tickets” section of the app.

WHERE CAN I USE MOBILE TICKETING ON RTD?
Mobile tickets are valid on all regular bus, Call-n-Ride, SkyRide and train services. They are not valid on Access-a-Ride and RTD Special Service routes, such as BroncosRide, BuffRide, RunRide and SeniorRide. Another form of fare payment is required to ride these services. Please read RTD’s fare policies before traveling.

WHAT TYPES OF TICKETS CAN I PURCHASE VIA MOBILE TICKETING?
Local and Regional 3-Hour Passes, Local and Regional/Airport Day Passes and Local and Regional/Airport Monthly Passes are available via Mobile Ticketing.
DO TRANSIT TICKETS EXPIRE?
Purchased 3-Hour Pass and Day Pass tickets expire 45 days after purchase even if they are not activated. Activated 3-Hour pass tickets expire 3 hours after activation. Activated Day Pass tickets automatically expire at 2:59 a.m. on the day after activation. Activated Monthly Pass Tickets expire at 2:59 am on the first day of the next calendar month.
RTD does not issue refunds for unused fare media. In the event of service disruptions, please contact RTD Customer Care at 303.299.6000.
CAN I PURCHASE AND ACTIVATE MORE THAN ONE TICKET ON MY PHONE?
You can buy up to 10 tickets per ticket type in a single purchase and up to a maximum of 20 tickets per ticket type in a day. You have to activate a ticket for each passenger before boarding an RTD vehicle.
Redeeming your Transit ticket
TO REDEEM YOUR TICKET
1. Tap “Activate” on the ticket details (you must do this before you can board)
2. Once activated, the ticket will have a QR code
3. Scan or display your QR code when you reach your bus or train
WHEN DO I ACTIVATE MY TICKET?
You must activate your ticket before boarding a bus or train. Bus operators and fare inspectors will require an activated ticket.
CAN I TRANSFER TO OTHER ROUTES WITH A MOBILE TICKET?
You can use the same activated mobile ticket to transfer to other routes until the end of the RTD service day at 2:59am If you have a Local Day Pass, you may take a one-way upgraded trip if you pay for the higher level of service in cash on the bus or purchase an upgraded ticket at a ticket vending machine on a rail platform or at a rail station.
Where do I find my Transit tickets?
Transit tickets purchased through Uber are stored in the Uber app.
To access your tickets:
1. Select “Transit Tickets” from the side menu
2. Tap “Your tickets” on the transit navigation screen to view your purchased tickets
WILL MY TRANSIT TICKET STILL WORK IF I LOSE CELL PHONE SERVICE?
A network connection is only required to purchase a ticket, which must be done before boarding. If you lose service after purchasing a ticket, you’ll still be able to activate and display the ticket from the “Your tickets” section.
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY PHONE BECOMES INOPERABLE BEFORE BOARDING TRANSIT?
You’ll need to display your ticket to board transit. If your phone is inoperable (e.g. your battery dies), you’ll have to purchase a ticket another way to board transit.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I BUY A NEW DEVICE OR UNINSTALL THE APP?
Your tickets are stored on your account. If you uninstall and reinstall the app or get a new phone, log in to the Uber app to view your tickets. If you have an unused, unexpired ticket that does not appear, please contact RTD’s Customer Care team by calling (303) 299 6000.
Will tickets purchased through RTD’s app show in the Uber app?
Tickets purchased in the Uber app will appear in your Transit tickets. Any tickets purchased through RTD will only be visible in their app.
CAN I TRANSFER TICKETS BETWEEN THE UBER AND RTD APPS?
Your Transit tickets can’t be transferred to any other apps. If you purchase a Transit ticket through Uber, make sure you keep the Uber app ready for the start of your trip
My Transit ticket won’t scan
If your activated ticket won’t scan when you arrive at your bus, train or station, reach out to RTD for help by calling (303) 299 6000.
I’m having trouble purchasing a ticket
You may be unable to buy a ticket for a couple of reasons.
THE TICKET SCREEN WON’T LOAD
– Check your network connection to make sure you’re getting a good signal
– Force quit the app and try again
PAYMENT FOR A PREVIOUS RIDE WAS NOT SUCCESSFUL
If your payment method for a previous Uber ride was unsuccessful, you will need to complete payment for that ride before you are able to purchase a new transit ticket. Exit the ticket purchase experience and complete payment for your previous Uber rides purchase.
THE “BUY” BUTTON DOESN’T WORK
– Make sure you have a valid credit card on your account (a credit card is required to purchase tickets at this time)

Can I pay for my Transit trip with Uber Cash, Apple Pay or Google Pay?
A credit or debit card is required to purchase Transit tickets on the Uber app at this time. Make sure you have a valid credit or debit card on your account before you buy tickets.
Discounted RTD fares
HOW DO I ACCESS DISCOUNTED FARES ON MY DEVICE?
When making a purchase, you can select between a full price pass and a discounted pass. Discount fares are available for all seniors 65+, individuals with disabilities, Medicare recipients and students (elementary, middle and high school) ages 6-19. Proof of eligibility is required. Individuals with disabilities may obtain a Special Discount Card by calling (303)-299-2667.
WHAT IF I’M RIDING WITH CHILDREN 5 YEARS OF AGE OR YOUNGER?
Children 5 years of age or younger ride free with a fare-paying adult. Limited to three children with each fare-paying adult.
IS THERE A DISCOUNT FOR ACTIVE DUTY MEMBERS OF THE MILITARY?
Active duty members of the U.S. military ride for free on all RTD services. Proof of eligibility is required.

ARE RECEIPTS AVAILABLE FOR MOBILE TICKETING PURCHASES?
Yes, they will be emailed to the email address Uber has on file for your account.
