Safety is our number one priority – not just for riders and drivers, but also for the communities we serve. That’s why this Fourth of July, we’re kicking off our partnership with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) to help keep you safe on the road!
To get things started, we’re donating $1 to MADD ($10 for new riders) for every ride taken between 6 a.m. on July 4 and 6 a.m. on July 5 when you enter the promo code UberMADD. Help us spread the word!

With Uber, you can ride in style wherever you need to go, no cash or advance planning needed, all at the touch of a button. And that’s the whole point of #UberMADD: Leave your car at home when you head to your celebration.
That’s how we helped cut drunk driving rates by 10 percent in Seattle, and we’re proud to partner with MADD in making your city a safer place, too. The Fourth of July has one of the highest incidences of DUIs, but with Uber, there’s no reason to ever get behind the wheel.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
- Keep the car at home! Enter the code UberMADD before you ride, and we’ll donate $1 ($10 for new riders) to MADD.
- Spread the word and tell your friends about our partnership by using #UberMADD. (Don’t forget—if you ride with friends, fare splitting = fair splitting.)
- Share the awesome graphic below.
- Be safe and enjoy the holiday!
THE FINE PRINT
Uber will donate $10 for each new Uber user and $1 for each July 4th ride completed with the promotional code UberMADD to Mothers Against Drunk Driving with a minimum guaranteed donation of $20,000. Learn more about MADD at www.madd.org.
MADD’s mission is to eliminate drunk driving, support the victims of this violent crime and prevent underage drinking. If you or someone you love has been affected by a drunk driver, MADD is here to help. Services are available 24 hours a day, every day of the year through our help line 877.MADD.HELP.
