Delivering alcohol
With Uber Eats, your trips may include alcohol deliveries. Here's what to expect.
Follow important steps
Delivering alcohol is a little different from delivering food. There are important steps and guidelines to follow, as required by law.
Bring your phone
Be sure to take your phone with you when you meet your customer. The app will prompt you to check their ID, sobriety, and age, and it may ask for a signature to complete the delivery.
Use your best judgment
If you suspect a fake ID, intoxication, or that the customer is underage, the app may prompt you to return the alcohol to the business. Don’t worry, you’ll still receive a fare for the distance traveled.
Remain polite and professional
If you need to refuse a delivery, you can tell the customer that you legally cannot complete the delivery and that they can contact Support through their app with questions.
Follow local laws and regulations
You’re required to follow all laws and regulations in your city, including road safety and alcohol laws. This reminder is a legal and regulatory requirement, and not instructions or guidance by Uber.
