About the Role

The North Asia team is on a mission to fuel the growth through marketplace optimisations and increasing efficiencies in the investments planned on riders and drivers. You will be responsible for leading the marketplace deepdives, analysing each product at a city x time segments, to come up with insights and recommendations to optimise the supply/demand balance

As Regional operations manager in Marketplace, you will have a unique opportunity to shape and drive business growth in North Asia, one of Uber’s key businesses globally and part of the “Star” Markets, with still a massive potential of development ahead.

You will help us improve reliability for each product by developing reports and tools to draw analytical insights, work with local teams to understand the nuances and build a proposal to improve the respective reliability of each product. This role calls for a combination of operational mindset, analytics skills, and the interpersonal abilities to manage a team of high-performing Operations Managers, with whom you’ll ensure that the business is monitored and responding to the marketplace health situation in all cities.

Besides this, you will also be responsible for the overall budgeting and forecasting process for all North Asian markets. This would involve working with the rider and driver team to capture inputs for the respective verticals, working with x-fn teams to gather the forecasts and ensuring compliance of timelines for the process.

Your Impact in Role

  • Build and launch processes: Develop and scale initiatives that enhance platform reliability
  • Leverage data for decision-making: Analyze performance metrics, create dashboards, and identify areas for improvement from a reliability perspective.
  • Project management: Conduct root-cause analyses and execute targeted improvement plans by city x product x time to share improvement recommendations with rider and driver teams
  • Drive automation: Collaborate with automation specialists to improve operational reliability across the marketplace.
  • Manage stakeholders: Partner with local teams to gather insights on potential improvements in configurations that will help increase reliability
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Work closely with regional teams to ensure solutions align with both local needs and global objectives.

What You Will Bring

  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience (management consulting, investment banking, operations, etc.)
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment
  • Experience leading cross-functional stakeholders in order to execute high-impact projects
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • SQL experience is a must
  • Prior marketplace experience preferred
