Our Operations teams are the heart and soul of Uber. These are the teams that take our global product and localize it to an assigned market. At Uber, providing amazing support that establishes trust for drivers and delivery partners - our community - is a core feature of our product experience.

Uber Eats is looking for a creative, highly motivated individual to join our operations team as a Courier Operations Representative. The right candidate will have a rare combination of creative problem solving, drive for results, and interpersonal capacities. You will leverage your strategic thinking, hustle and your own experience to set and execute a strategy to help us grow our business in Portugal and maintain top reliability.

What You ́ll Do

  • Own of a portfolio of cities and be responsible for monitoring courier operational metrics, formulate and execute plans to improve their reliability;
  • Support the launch of the business in new cities: ensuring that the right conditions are met on the supply (courier) side;
  • Manage incentive strategies to boost partner acquisition and satisfaction;
  • Resolve complex problems: as a subject matter expert on all courier-related processes;
  • Manage projects and stakeholders: Prioritize tasks, escalate them to appropriate stakeholders, and drive them to resolution as necessary

---- Basic Qualifications ----

  • Objection Handling: Able to cope with adversities with resilience and a #gogetit mindset and find creative solutions to engage with the marketplace
  • Organizational skills: You’ll be handling many issues at once, as well as be on top of operational metrics of several different cities of different dimensions and needs;
  • Problem Solving and Analytical Skills: Able to breakdown operational problems, think creatively to come up with different potential solutions  and execute efficiently in an analytical manner
  • Empathy and understanding of both eaters and driver partners alike: You will be an advocate for Uber's users
  • Good communication skills: You're eloquent and able to manage effective communication with different internal and external stakeholders
  • Team player. You’ll contribute to a synergistic work environment where people learn from one another and continuously improve processes on behalf of our marketplace users.
  • Travel: You’ll be flexible to travel across the country when needed

---- Preferred Qualifications ----

  • Expertise using Excel
  • Great speaking, reading comprehension and writing skills, both in Portuguese and English
  • A bachelor's degree and/or masters is preferred.

Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Uber’s cultural identity. Unless formally approved to work fully remotely, Uber expects employees to spend at least half of their work time in their assigned office. For certain roles, such as those based at green-light hubs, employees are expected to be in-office for 100% of their time.
