Tips to help you stay safe and prevent sexual assault
One in 3 women worldwide have experienced sexual assault in their lifetime.* These issues know no boundaries and affect all genders and communities. Uber partners with advocacy groups, law enforcement, and safety experts to raise awareness of how to prevent sexual assault and stay safe.
Don’t stand by: how and when to take action
Here are tips developed by NO MORE, a global advocacy group that’s helping to end gender-based violence. They spotlight the important role all of us play in looking out for one another’s safety.
Watch for social cues
友人に注意を払いましょう。相手が不快に感じたり、自分自身に問題があると思われる場合でも、相手が大丈夫かどうかを尋ねるのを恐れないでください。
Enlist allies
If you see anyone acting violently or aggressively, notify security or call local authorities.
Stick together
End the night the same way you started it: together. Think about making a plan with your friends in advance to leave the bar or club with a buddy or as a group.
乗車情報の確認
When you request a ride, complete these 3 steps to make sure you’re getting into the right car with the right driver:
- Match the license plate number.
- Match the car make and model.
- Check the driver’s photo.
Uber’s Community Guidelines
You deserve to feel comfortable and safe while traveling. Uber’s Community Guidelines prohibit sexual assault and misconduct of any kind. We review all reports submitted to our Support team that may violate our Community Guidelines, and we have a specialized team that can investigate more serious incidents.
