California TNC
December 13, 2016
Some trips requested through Uber application in California are Transportation Network Company (TNC) trips. TNCs facilitate rides between passengers and private drivers using their own personal vehicles. Each TNC is required to maintain an insurance policy providing a minimum of $1,000,000 (one million dollars) per-incident coverage for incidents involving vehicles and drivers while they are providing TNC services.
If you have any issues on a TNC trip, you can email customercomplaints@uber.com, submit feedback through in-app support, or visit help.uber.com. To report a Zero Tolerance Complaint, you can also call 1-800-664-1378. You can also reach the California Public Utilities Commission at 1-800-894-9444 or CIU_intake@cpuc.ca.gov.
