How Uber Flash works

Open the Uber app and select Send, or access Uber Flash page online

Choose Send a item, Receive a item, or Encargo

Enter your pickup and dropoff details to view available delivery options

Choose a desired delivery option and complete your request by entering required information about the sender and recipient.

At this step, you can choose if you want to:

  • Send your item with a PIN; the recipient will need to provide a code to confirm the delivery
  • Add optional Item Protection

Have your item ready to hand over to the delivery partner

Meet the delivery partner to hand over your item

The recipient should be available to meet the delivery partner at the door or curb, depending on the dropoff instructions you provided.

If you choose to protect your delivery with a PIN, the recipient must pass it on to the delivery partner upon delivery of the item.

    For delivery by bike or scooter, if available in your location, you can send items that:

    • Don’t contain any prohibited items**
    • Fit comfortably in a backpack
    • Are closed, securely sealed, and ready for curbside or door pickup
    • Weigh a maximum of 10 kilograms
    • Are within the monetary value for your location*

    If your item contains a prohibited item or doesn’t follow the restrictions above, the delivery partner may cancel your request.

  • Uber Flash is designed for local deliveries, usually within a single geographical region (excluding journeys across international borders).

  • You can send items with Uber Flash 24/7, subject to delivery partner availability, allowing you to conveniently schedule deliveries at any time that suits you.

  • Yes, you can send multiple items with Uber Flash in a single order, if all the items fit safely within the vehicle, depending on the type of delivery, and are within the monetary value and weight limits for your location.*

  • To have a motorcycle partner deliver your goods, choose Uber Flash Moto or Uber Flash Moto Economy as your delivery option when requesting a delivery.

    Availability of delivery options varies per city. To see if Uber Flash Moto is available in San Luis Potosí, open the Uber app and enter your pickup and dropoff locations.

  • Items sent with Uber Flash are not insured. You’ll have an option to protect lost items, theft, or damage caused by third parties.     You may choose the Item Protection option when requesting Uber Flash. With this option, if an accident occurs with your item, you should follow these instructions:

    • Go to the Activity section of the app and search for the delivery that was made with Uber Flash.
    • After selecting the trip, go to the banner with the following message: “Insurance claim.” You’ll be directed to our partner company’s website, where you can follow the instructions.
  • Delivery services in San Luis Potosí are priced per delivery with Uber Flash. The rates may vary depending on the type of delivery (Uber Flash, Uber Flash Moto, Uber Flash Moto Economy) and other factors.

  • Yes, you can track orders as they’re happening with Uber Flash in San Luis Potosí in the Uber app.

  • Depending on the instructions provided by the sender, the recipient should be available to meet the delivery partner at the door or curb. You can also ask the delivery partner to leave the item in the building’s lobby by adding delivery notes with further instructions.

    Delivery options may vary per location. You can check what dropoff options are available for your delivery when requesting Uber Flash in the app or online.

  • If a delivery partner needs to return an item to the sender because the recipient did not retrieve it, the cost of the trip will be updated automatically to include the return trip, and the full cost of the trip will be charged to the user who made the request.

    • If your item hasn’t been delivered yet, you can call or message the delivery partner in the app.
    • Delivery partners are free to cancel your request for any reason, including, for example, if your item was too heavy, was too large for their vehicle, was not packaged securely, or contained a prohibited item.
    • If the person receiving the item wasn’t available, the delivery partner may try to contact you in the app to resolve the issue or coordinate a return. You’ll be responsible for costs associated with returning the item to you if necessary.
    • For help coordinating a delivery in case of terminated trips or canceled requests, if you haven’t yet received your item, or if the item was damaged during delivery, contact Uber Support.

By using Uber Flash, you acknowledge and accept that this functionality allows you to request trips through the Uber app for delivery partners using this platform to deliver items. You acknowledge that this functionality may be temporary. Neither Uber nor the delivery partners are responsible for the items or their content, thus disclaiming any obligation or liability related to the items, their content and/or delivery, including any loss or damage that these items may suffer.
