Celebrating Veterans Day

At Uber, we’re proud to have driver partners who are transitioning service members, veterans, and military spouses. As we honor their service to our country on Veterans Day on November 11, we wanted to highlight some of the events in Boston, as well as some family-friendly activities for the week.

Head to the Boston Common on Tuesday to join the greater Boston community for the parade celebrations. Ending at the City Hall Plaza, there will be music and speakers paying tribute to our veterans and their families. Following the first parade is the Veterans For Peace Parade, also at the Common.

Franklin Park and Stone Zoos are offering free admission to veterans this Tuesday. If the wildlife wasn’t enough of a reason to go, there’s also a Hess Toy Truck history exhibit showcasing 50 years of toys.

Featuring over 50 works from dozens of artists, the pieces span many techniques, nationalities, and generations. The amazing sculptural techniques are an interesting reflection of the cultures and histories they incorporate.

Duck Tours this week are free for all veterans and service members. Get your tourist on; even if you’ve lived in Boston for years, seeing it from both land and river in a Duck Tour shows a side of the city you may not have seen yet. With colorful guides at the helm, it’s different every time!
ARE YOU A CURRENT MEMBER OF THE MILITARY, A VETERAN, OR A MILITARY SPOUSE?
This year, we proudly launched UberMILITARY, our nationwide initiative to empower 50,000 members of the military community as partner drivers through the Uber platform. All those interested in learning more about becoming an Uber partner can find helpful information here.
Partner Spotlight: Benjamin
Partnering with Uber allows US Army Veteran Benjamin to have a flexible schedule while pursuing his passions in music. He found Uber was a great fit for musicians, especially with a family and classes to attend at Berklee School of Music. Playing gigs can have an irregular schedule, and he enjoys being able to have the flexibility to perform, work, and study on an itinerary he sets.
Uber On,
