Summer is here and you now have 3 full days to fill up on Vitamin D! To celebrate the long weekend of Independence Day, our Uber Louisville and Yelp’s Louisville community manager have teamed up to put together these ideas of things to do:

Yelp’s can’t miss events:

  1. Louisville Orchestra Waterfront 3rd of July: enjoy upscale festival food, live music, and fireworks on the river
  2. Crescent Hill 4th of July Festival: Check out art, live music, and kids activities before the fireworks launch at 10pm
  3. Tour the Frazier History Museum: Indulge in some American history over this patriotic holiday by checking out their collection of armor and weaponry

Where to eat:

Smoketown USA

The ribs are fall off the bone. Excellent smoky, char flavor. They nail it. The greens have the great in-between spicy and vegetably (is that a word?) flavor… I’ve been to Smoketown USA several times and it never disappoints. It’s my favorite BBQ restaurant in the city. And if you try it, it will be yours, too. *wink and a finger gun*” — Joseph T., Yelper

Mussel and Burger Bar

Best burger I’ve had in Louisville. It was tender, juicy, cooked just right, and did not destroy the warm toasted bun it was served on. The sweet pickles were a wonderful addition to the burger itself. The sweet potato fries were ace as well — but you can never go wrong with those. My wife loved the mussels and couldn’t get enough of the bread they serve alongside them for dipping.” — Ryan G., Yelper

Where to drink:

Meta

The floor is covered in pennies, and the bathroom has positive quotes that help your buzz float along the rainbow. Hipster as can be and I love it! … With options to take a casual drink that was created many moons ago or to go with Meta’s twist on it. This place has a funky edge to it!” — Elise Dixie Jane M., Yelper

The atmosphere here is so chill and comfortable too. Lots of seating options, a great back patio, and good tunes playing through the speakers. I could see myself hanging out here way too often. … Such a gem nestled along Story Avenue. Go. Soon.” — Sarah C., Yelper

Have a safe and happy 4th of July!
