Uber Philly Gives Back
Written byAt Uber Philly, we take pride in working closely with our driver-partners to move the City of Brotherly Love. Our partners drive to keep the streets safe and make transportation more accessible for everyone. But we also recognize there are additional ways to help Philadelphia.
On Giving Tuesday, dozens of Uber Philly partners and staff came together to volunteer at non-profit organizations focused on ending hunger locally. We were inspired by driver-partner Mary Ellen, who has spent years fighting hunger as a full-time coordinator for Family & Community Services.
Teams dedicated their time to refurbishing a shelter for Family & Community Services and assembling food packages for Share Food Program. In all:
- 70 Uber Philly Partners and Staff volunteered
- 40 hours were dedicated to painting a shelter for Family & Community Services of Delaware County
- 24,000 pounds of food were packaged for donation at Share Food Program in North Philadelphia
- 200 families will benefit from those food packages assembled
- 280 collective community service hours were dedicated to giving back to our community
