Buying gift cards is seamless

1. Sign up for an Uber for Business account

Create an Uber for Business account to access our gift card dashboard.

2. Add your payment information

Select your billing method and enter your payment details. You won’t be charged yet.

3. Place your gift card order

Select the number of gift cards you want to buy and the amount to load onto each card.

4. Share with recipients

You can either distribute immediately through an automated email or download codes to send later. When recipients claim their gift card, the value will be added to their Uber Wallet.

Frequently asked questions

  • Gift cards, once applied to an account, become Uber Cash in the Wallet section of the app and can be used toward rides with Uber or meals with Uber Eats.

  • Yes, Uber gift cards will cover taxes, fees, and tips for an Uber transaction.

  • Gift cards are available on the Uber for Business dashboard in Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, the UK, and the US. Gift cards can only be used in the country corresponding to the currency loaded on the card. For example, gift cards purchased in USD can only be used in the US.

  • Gift cards are digital by default. In the US, physical gift cards are also available; businesses can buy them with the help of our sales team.

  • You can distribute them 2 ways:

    1. Through Uber: Upload a list of recipients and Uber will send the codes to them by email.
    2. On your own: Gift card codes will be added to your dashboard. Download them and share directly with recipients through your preferred contact method.

  • Currently, you can buy gift cards on the Uber for Business dashboard only with a credit card. If you’d like to purchase gift cards through bank transfers, contact our sales team for assistance.

  • Vouchers can be customized to be used for just rides, just meals with Uber Eats, or both. You can also provide vouchers that offer a discount or cover only part of a ride or meal, and add restrictions on location, expiration date, and more. With gift cards, restrictions cannot be added.

    Plus, gift cards require upfront payment. With vouchers, you pay only when the recipients redeem them.

    We recommend that businesses use gift cards for rewards or gestures of appreciation and choose vouchers to fulfill functional needs, like offering a ride for an event.
