The inspiration from the Bronx
“It’s important for me to do more than what people might expect me to do. I never wanna limit myself at all.”
–Diamond
Courier with Uber Eats
Diamond is a 21-year-old full-time student born and raised in the Bronx. With 2 younger sisters looking up to her, Diamond is passionate about being a strong role model not just for them, but her entire community. Her goal is to be a positive beacon that reminds people to go after the things they want in life.
Diamond, thanks to you and all that you do.
How a delivery platform became a platform for inspiration
For Diamond, finding a flexible job that matched her busy schedule wasn’t easy. So when she signed up to deliver with Uber Eats, it was an opportunity that she took full advantage of. By delivering in her neighborhood of the Bronx, she’s been able to form stronger connections with restaurant owners and her community, who are both inspired and impressed by her go-getter attitude.
“They would look at me and be shocked that I was doing the job, but also compliment me because they were impressed that I didn't allow my situation to limit me.”
–Diamond
“You gotta think big! If you can put your mind to it, you can do it.”

The genuine connector
“Everyone has an amazing story to tell.”
–Fritz
Driver with Uber
When it comes to building connections, Fritz is your guy. Easy to talk to and naturally charismatic, he made the leap from working in the medical field to driving with Uber in 2015. Coming from parents with over 5 decades of taxi experience, driving is in Fritz’s blood. The excitement of being able to meet and connect with people is what makes him love what he does.
Fritz, thanks to you and all that you do.
How a ride became a rescue
On the morning of August 27, 2022, what started as a normal trip to the airport would be anything but. When Fritz saw flames coming out a second-floor window, instinct took over and he asked his rider if it was OK to help. Sprinting into action, Fritz ran into the burning building and helped multiple people evacuate until the emergency responders arrived. Through it all, Fritz still managed to get his passenger to the airport on time for her flight.
“I look up and I see that there’s fire shooting out of a 4-story brownstone. So I turned around, I'm like—‘Oh, wow, there’s a fire. Can we help?’ And she goes, ‘Absolutely.’ ”
–Fritz
“For me, the goal is that the person who comes in the car should feel different when they leave the car.”
–Fritz

The (un)official ambassador of LA
“When I started driving with Uber, I was able to learn parts of Los Angeles and experience places that you’d want to go.”
–Ray
Driver and courier with Uber
Originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, Ray moved his family to LA in 2013 to help his daughter chase her dreams of becoming a dancer. Between his daughter's auditions and son’s soccer practice, Ray wanted to find a way to spend more time with his family, while helping them achieve their goals. That's when he began driving and delivering with Uber.
Ray, thanks to you and all that you do.
How rides helped Ray fall in love with LA
While Ray isn’t a Los Angeles native, his time living here has helped foster a deep love and admiration for the city. By driving and delivering with Uber and immersing himself in LA culture, he’s been able to share his deep knowledge of must-visit spots and best restaurants across the city. His goal is to share a little bit of that same LA magic with everyone he comes across.
“It’s that energy of the folks that are coming here to chase a dream—and LA is the city of dreams.”
–Ray
“When I see people who have that kind of aspiration, I just have this inclination to want to support that.”
–Ray
