If a vehicle model appears in the list below but does not comply with the vehicle requirements for ride options in your area, that vehicle will not be eligible to use in your area. In addition to meeting the above criteria, all vehicles and drivers in NYC must be licensed by the NYC Taxi & Limousine Commission.

Note: the year listed for each vehicle below represents the oldest vehicle year that’s allowed for that ride option. This generally increases by one year every year. Models eligible for UberX are also eligible for Uber Connect, Uber Pet, and UberX Share. Electric vehicle models are also eligible for Uber Green. Eligibility for Uber Black, Uber Comfort, Uber Comfort Electric, and Uber Premier options also depends on driver rating and factors like legroom and exterior/interior color. Vehicles that pass the NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission’s wheelchair-accessible-vehicle inspection are eligible for Uber WAV ride options.
