Benefits at Uber
We build our benefits with heart
Doing your best work means being your best self. At Uber, our focus is to support your overall wellbeing by offering a holistic set of benefits so you can be your best authentic self. We want to help our go-getters thrive and make it easier to manage life's expected and unexpected events, wherever you may be.
Supporting you and your journey
Health, life, and disability
One of our top priorities is to maintain the health and wellbeing of you, your family, and our greater Uber community. To achieve this goal, we offer robust and comprehensive healthcare and risk plans.
In many countries, Uber provides a comprehensive medical insurance plan for you and your eligible dependents. Where it is not applicable, we offer an allowance to support your medical insurance costs.
Uber also provides life and disability insurance for all eligible employees. Talk to your recruiter to learn about country-specific coverage.
Wellbeing and lifestyle
Your wellbeing is important to us. We want you to thrive at life, not just at work. To support go-getters, we provide access to multiple programs to help you save time, money, and get the support you need.
Uber credits
Receive credits for Rides and Eats plus a discount. Credits are refreshed monthly and expire at the end of the month if not used.
Wellbeing reimbursement
Receive a wellbeing stipend to use on your physical and mental wellbeing, from gym memberships to fitness wearables.
Travel medical benefits
About to book your next trip? We have your travel medical needs covered—personal trips too. Employees and eligible dependents travelling together are covered under our travel medical coverage.
Mental wellness
Life happens, so we offer benefits to support you and your family members’ mental wellbeing too. Our Employee Assistance Program provides confidential counseling for a wide variety of topics and access to a wellbeing app that offers tools to support mental wellness.
Parental and family care
With paid leave for parents, flexible work options, and more we make sure you’re able to take care of yourself and your family.
- Parental leave
Whether you’re welcoming a child by birth, surrogacy, adoption or foster care, we got you. New parents (birthing and non-birthing) can take a minimum of 18 weeks fully paid parental leave, in one or two blocks over a rolling 12 month period. Uber's company policy of 18 weeks of paid leave for all parents runs concurrently with statutory leave. To understand the policy in your region, contact your recruiter.
- Cleo for parents
Down Small Cleo offers a comprehensive support program for birth preparation, newborn sleep, breastfeeding, return to work, and more.
- Family planning
Down Small We offer financial support which covers a wide range of treatments and services such as infertility consultation, drugs and vaccination, in vitro fertilization (IVF), egg freezing, donor sperm or eggs, intrauterine insemination (IUI), among others. For employees considering adoption or surrogacy, fees and various expenses are also covered up to the benefit limit.
- Uber credits for parents
Down Small To help ease the transition of adding a new family member, Uber provides parental Uber Credits. You can choose how to use your parental credits: reserve a ride for date night, order in dinner or take a car to a doctor’s appointment.
Out of office
Taking time off is essential to your wellbeing—whether for travel, spending time with family, or simply just staying at home. Uber offers a variety of time off and leaves, which depending on your location, may include paid time off, sick leave, marriage leave, bereavement leave, voting time off, and time off for local holidays.
Plus, every 5 years Uber employees can take a fully-paid 4-week sabbatical. Check off a trip on your bucket list, explore the world, or focus on a hobby at home.
Health, life, and disability eligibility differ by location. Uber Credits are not applicable in countries where Uber does not operate. Uber Parental benefits are only applicable to new parents post-commencement of employment with Uber.
