Driving via the Uber app
Below are details explaining the use of the Driver app.
- Uploading your documents
To register on the Uber app we request these 3 documents:
- A valid Saudi driver's license
- A valid vehicle registration
- A driver profile photo
Note: only photos of original documents are accepted; no photocopies or scans will be accepted. All 4 corners of each document must be visible in the photos. Unacceptable photos include those with blurriness, reflections, shadows, or any objects covering part of the document.
- Undergoing a background check
Down Small After your documents are approved, your profile will undergo an automatic background check with the government.
If your registration is successful, you will be able to consent to the text sent to you on Absher within 10 days of receiving it. For more information, you may wish to follow the below steps.
If your registration is unsuccessful, you will not receive the consent text. In this situation, you may wish to verify that:
- None of the documents are expired
- You meet the vehicle ownership rules (you can follow this resource for more information)
- The vehicle, if the model is more than 3 years old, underwent the vehicle inspection The vehicle is properly insured
- Getting a vehicle
Down Small Requirements for the vehicle in order to register for the Uber app:
- Less than 10 years old
- A 4-door sedan or minivan
- In good condition
- Free from commercial branding
- Not a full-sized van or truck
- Not a taxicab, government car, or other marked vehicle
- Not salvaged or rebuilt

Enabling more women to earn on their own schedule

Women Rider Preference
- This feature allows women drivers to select a preference to accept only women riders.
- Women drivers can turn the feature on or off whenever they choose.
- Women Rider Preference is designed to match eligible women drivers to women riders; however, Uber does not guarantee that use of the preference will ensure that all riders who arrive for the trip will be women. Uber is not liable for the same.
Safety
- Key safety features include phone number anonymization, Follow My Ride/Share My Trip, RideCheck, and an emergency assistance button.
Women referrals
- Referring a woman to Uber means you could earn an additional fee on top of your usual referral fee.
